History of Mulykap:
The excellent and beautiful adventure of Mulykap, a public transportation company, began in 2008. It continues, to the great satisfaction of users, and beyond initial expectations.
Initially, Mulykap's goal was to provide a quality public transportation service, with a minimum of comfort and high safety standards, between the main cities of the former Katanga province: Lubumbashi, Likasi, Kolwezi, etc. A successful mission. Some ten years later, Mulykap has become a brand that commands respect and consideration. It has established itself and imposed its standards in an environment unaccustomed to seeing buses leaving on time, without being excessively overcrowded, with passengers on board who do not feel cramped. These passengers were once mixed with goods destined to be sold gradually, along the way, in a multitude of villages and towns that await travelers between Lubumbashi and Kolwezi.
"In the passenger transport sector, we are now the largest operators in the former Katanga region and, by extension, in the country. We have a fleet of over 120 coaches, which we plan to expand in the coming weeks," explains Patrick Muland, Mulykap's CEO, an economist with a degree from the University of Lubumbashi who went into business for himself at the age of 26, after spending a year at the General Directorate of Taxation.
Mulykap's Success
Who would have thought that Mulykap, which started with... three used vehicles, would one day become the benchmark in terms of punctuality, reliability, and organization? "Our strength lies in the fact that we are the only transporters in Greater Katanga to have coaches equipped with a GPS tracking system. We can locate them at any time, know where they are and how fast they are traveling," emphasizes Patrick Muland.Organizational skill, combined with cutting-edge technology, has produced results that speak for themselves: Mulykap has never experienced a fatal accident. Its drivers are subject to alcohol tests and strict driving discipline to avoid endangering the lives of passengers. The coaches are of three brands: Mitsubishi (Japanese), Hyundai (South Korean), and Sunlong (Chinese).
